Pixel Icon Tutorial Part 1: The OutlineA lot of people have expressed desires to learn how to pixel icons or have said that they would like to improve their skills. While I'm so detail-oriented that I find it difficult to explain my process, I thought I'd give it a try for you guys. I hope it helps.

Pixel Icon Tutorial Part 1: The Outline!
1. CREATE YOUR SIZE LIMIT.
Sometimes when you're pixelling, you don't have a size limit; you can make it as large or as small as you like. However, a deviantART icon must be 50x50px in size.
I personally like to make a 52x52px square outline on my canvas. The outline is one pixel wide on each side, leaving a 50x50px area in the middle for me to work in (one pixel for each left and right = two pixels, and 52-2=50, see?), but that's my preference. (The outline will not be part of the actual icon!)
